i am well aware of the calvinist position so i will ask this question

the false prophets peter warns of were they ever in the knowledge of christ or just sinners so became like many athiests manipulators.

read that verse and see what peter says.

to me that negates the idea of pereservance of the saints.

1 John 2:18-19

1 John is a great tool to help us measure the effects of sanctification, and see if we are in the faith. The verse above is clear that if people are of us, they would continue with us. But let's get to the references in my (edit) THIRD post as well.
