Origen 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2006 I was looking for an interesting forum to join that dealt with both physics and metaphysics. I found www.physicsforums.com and joined thinking that it was a professional minded forum. I was banned in an hour because I was a Christian. Physics Forum Global Guidelines: "All members have the right to their own ideas, beliefs and faiths. Members have the right to express these on Physics Forums with equal respect and consideration." I was polite and respectful. The moderator told me not to ever bring "religion" into the topic ever again. I replied by questioning his motives....then I was banned. I've been on several forums that do not tolerate opposing views. www.christianforums.com banned me because I simply disagreed with OEC and provided Bible verses and scientific reasons that corrolated with YEC. I wrote an article that they deleted which proved that evolution was ancient mythology. All this coming from a supposed Christian forum? Truth is, OEC/Theistic-evolution is nothing more then a "No name calling" of Babylon and I say that because I've personallt witnessed it! Have any of you on this forum ever experienced getting banned for no reason except the fact that you disagree with a lie?
disruptor 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2006 I'm happy to say I have been banned from several Forums. I was particularly pleased to be banned from the Forum of the anti-Christian website evilbible.com for a thread that they really didn't like (my first post there). The whole website is about criticizing the Bible for being supposedly "evil" - I merely pointed out that if the Bible ignored "evil" and merely spoke about peace, love and flowers it wouldn't be "relevant", and that many of us like our Bibles just as they are, war and all (that's what really upset their liberal sensitivities). They banned me, but left the thread there to cause further disruption. I was also instantly banned from this Christian Forum for daring to suggest (in my first post) an obvious alteration to one word of the translation of Leviticus 20:10. Well, some moderators are a bit on the sensitive side...

I was also banned from www.christianforums.com for (1) refuting evolution (my topic was deleted, then I reopenned it and it was closed_ and, (2) refuting the SDA belief that Sunday is the Mark of the Beast. That website does not tolerate Christians on their forum and I was sick to witness such evil infiltration. Physcisforums banned me strictly because I was a Christian and according to Richard Dawkins, Christians are stupid, so I was banned. Question: What can a person do to report such hatecrimes? chance 1 Report post Posted July 31, 2006 IMO, in a debate forum one should not be banned for having an opposing opinion, ever (I am assuming all such debate is ‘on topic’ for the purpose of the forum). No point in discussing motorcycles in an evolution forum.
Origen 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2006 I was banned again on www.physicsforums.com! They are very worried about theist and the truth we know about the fallacy of evolution. Fascism and censorship is a sure sign of a group of people trying to hide a lie, and since prophecy says this will happen I'd say evolution is officially discredited. MRC_Hans 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2006 I haven't visited the forum in question, but might I suggest that telling people they are liars is not going to endear you to any forum administration? Just try it here, and see how long you will last . Other than that I agree that, while no forum has an actual obligation to provide freedom of speech, it is very telling about the administrators of certain forums that they have so short tolerance of opposing views. Guest CrisW Report post Posted August 16, 2006 Some people just don't like the idea of a "fair fight". If you have an opinion, then express it. When someone disagrees with it, then be prepared to back it up with facts and logic. God (if you believe he exists) gave you a brain, so use it! If He wanted us to follow him with blind faith, he might as well have made us like robots.

Other than that I agree that, while no forum has an actual obligation to provide freedom of speech, it is very telling about the administrators of certain forums that they have so short tolerance of opposing views. Hans 8155 The forum administrator obviously must being "lying" if he told you I was banned for anything other then just being a Christian. He also rewrote over the scriptures I quoted with filthy Rap talk etc. I asked him why he was doing this and he again banned me. I saw other Christians banned for also disagreeing with evolution. If you want to know who's telling the truth maybe you should login and--well, nevermind...your knowledge of creationism must be rock solid with solid simplified rhetoric to match. I wrote some good post that would convince a person that evolution is unscientific. There are many forums, even so-called "Conservative" forums that will ban you for just speaking what is understandable. I'm now on three forums altogether, but only really active on one that I've been a member for for 3 1/2 years. I think that if people don't like or can't handle a topic or are not mature enough for a topic they should go to a topic they can handle and do enjoy. One thing I absoliutely can't stand about some forums is when the forum gets infiltrated by fascist. Take Sean Hannity's forum for example, the forum rules in the Religion Section do not allow a religious person to answer with solid truth. If a far-left liberal, who is pretending to be a fundamental Bible believing Conservative, disagrees because he doesn't like something of knowable truth he read, he just goes to the Moderator and tells him that I was mean when in reality it was all blown out of proportion. Nobody ever complains about me until I say something that may have strong influence in discussion. I believe that on this website one only gets banned for being "truly" offensive to other people, not just disagreeing with something. I like this forum and wish I was more active on it. I probably will be in the future, but now I'm in some good discussion on a forum I'm allowed to speak on and win points with people on. I think thats the whole point of any debate when it comes down to it; bearing on the ultimate question: Is it true or false? When political agendas get in the way of this question the question never gets answered!

Just try it here, and see how long you will last . That will certainly get someone booted.... Other than that I agree that, while no forum has an actual obligation to provide freedom of speech, it is very telling about the administrators of certain forums that they have so short tolerance of opposing views. Freedom of speech is a fine thing, but its a concept of government, and that's it. No one that complains about freedom of speech allows anything to be said in their presence at all times. People have rules of speech in their house, they set rules for their childred, etc.... Somehow people on the internet seem to think they they should be able to say anything they want, in any manner they want. The rules for this Forum are spelled out in a fairly clear fashion, and yet many sign up, and blatantely disregard them right of the box. Opposing views are welcome here, but people are not allowed to express them in uncivilized, intelectually dishonest fashions. I've seen unbridled expression of opinion pretty much ruin other Forums, especially by liberals, to the point that politics had to be banned from the Forum alogether. Moderating a board is not easy. If you've never done it, dont be too quick to judge them. Its takes time, and thought to be sure you aren't to quick to dump someone, but at the same time, making sure people are staying within the rules and spirit of the Forum. MRC_Hans 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2006 The forum administrator obviously must being "lying" if he told you I was banned for anything other then just being a Christian. I have not communicated at all with the forum administrator there. I have no idea why you were banned. I merely went by your own remark: Have any of you on this forum ever experienced getting banned for no reason except the fact that you disagree with a lie? ...and observed that if you were calling people liars for defending their honest conviction, that might have some connection to your banning. I have, however, registered over there, and if I get the time, I might have a go at it. I wrote some good post that would convince a person that evolution is unscientific. Ehr, well, since that is hardly true, you might have had a problem there, if your tone was sufficiently berilligent. You see, while evolution might be wrong (that is a question of belief), it is certainly not unscientific. I believe that on this website one only gets banned for being "truly" offensive to other people, not just disagreeing with something. Well, that will depend on your definition of truly offensive. I have recently seen people banned here for being "time-wasters". Edited to add: If you would like a good fight, try this one http://forums.randi.org/forumindex.php I can't promise you that you won't be banned, but it won't be for being a Christian . I have registered with physics forums. The forum rules are specific in the method of debating, like: * explicitly defining key terms; * justifying why this is a valid issue or problem in the first place; * explicitly stating starting premises or assumptions; * providing logical or empirical support for such premises or assumptions; * making subtle logical steps more explicit; * summarizing previous arguments made on the topic and explaining how they are relevant to your argument; * etc. When I search on your username I see that you have participated in 5 threads, yet it seems that you have been more than banned, but erased including your posts! (unless you went be a different name). What was the nature of the post that got you banned?
Origen 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2006 this is my last post on the subject because there is no reason to drag it out. What was the nature of the post that got you banned? 8304 The honest nature of the post in which I got banned contain Biblical nuggets that teach us that gravity and GR is clearly mentioned in scripture. I posted verses in Revelations that support the concept of global warming, and I also provide knowable laws of physics and biology that confirms that evolution is a hoax, while also writing a very insightful topic-openner that dealt with singularity. I logged in again and was banned under a few other names, while my post were deleted every time. My behavior was polite and said nothing that I should have been banned from the forum--even the forum rules agree with me!! The moderator had no right to rewrite my post with filthy rap talk. His behavior was not that of a moderator, but more like a Nazi (not a communist). In point, I've seen anough fascism and censorship to last a lifetime! PS. I was not the only one banned for being a Christian or speaking in opposition to the falsehood that humanity is "disposable."

Provided you were on topic (i.e. no point in invading the hard core physics forum if your meant to be in philosophy) I was thinking I might be able to get you un-banned if someone could speak on your behalf (if you so desired). Trouble was it looks as though you have been totally erased, and not a trace of the discussions remain. If events transpired as you say, it would have been more just to move your discussions into a “anything goes†section, or state this is not the place for such discussions, rather than the moderators sink to insulting behaviour. For every min. you waste trying to support free speech on that site is every min. lost from your life for nothing. I will not go back after what was done and have no desire to. I was banned from there for just having faith in God, so if thats the way they wanna be then I'll go to another forum that allows the Constitutional pratice of free-speech. Don't waste your time because time is precious and life is too short to try and changed people how are so evil they're already gone. There does come a point where a person becomes so numb to reality that they've seared their conscience with a hot iron, not allowing goodness to work in their minds and hearts. That website is a site for those who have lost their souls to the hatred for God that they would not let go of --even when there was evidence for God presented to them. Prophecy speaks about these people and warns us not to throw our pearls to them.
