Quick question: Canadian medical system. Yay or nay?
Our wait times aren't actually drastically higher than yours (depending on which province you're in, as the health care service is administered provincially and some do it better than others)
It is far cheaper to maintain and operate, both for the taxpayer and the government. We spend about half as much as the USA on our health care system. When it comes down to it, Universal health care is fiscally responsible.
The idea I saw in America over the last year about death panels, mistreatment of patients, and general failure of the system were offensively wrong. There's a reason why every party in the country (including the Conservative Party) isn't trying to dismantle it.
Also, getting cancer doesn't mean you'll break your bank if you don't have insurance. It's also improved the overall health of our population by making it less scary to go to the doctor. For example, Someone in America might avoid going to the doctor to get an illness taken care of, preferring to stay at home and miss a few days work rather than get a treatment.
Oh yeah, and everyones covered. Regardless of whatever positions someon may hold, ideologies they support, or their religion or race.
Feel free to ask anything else. Peace.
