its said that eg white is the parent of yec. is their any merit to this. i dont deny the influence of her but to say that the bible doesnt support the idea of young earth and wasnt seen by the ecf as such is a bit much.

To be honest I could not tell you. All I know is what I believed just happened to fit YEC. But every belief they try to pin on somebody. I doubt he was the first to believe the Bible literally and completely though. Before his time there was probably not a name for it.

White wasn't the parent of YEC, she just happened to hold some YEC views. So did others. Same applies for any old earth views, different people held them.
I recently found a OEC video on this:
They are basically claiming that early fundamentalists didn't have a problem with an old earth. And that the modern YEC is a "recent" development. Now that's a bit different from some of the facts that he states.
