Just 197 years ago Charles Darwin was born.

Hutzpah and false bravado is already clouding the minds of the zealots and celebrants.

A web site urges us to find a way to celebrate his 200th in 3 years.

see http://www.darwinday.org/

This web site makes as its centerpiece "DNA is at the Heart of Evolution".

That a pure anachronism - it is like saying that the neutrino is at the heart of Newtonian Physics. Or that the internal combusion engine is at the heart of Archimedes' mechanics.

Darwin no more anticipated a digital switch for inheritance than did anybody else before Mendel.

What are you talking about? Darwin was a brilliant scientist who studied....theology. Uh? What? Nevermind.
