    Is The Mormon Church Christian?

He said that because I posted a sermon by Paul Washer (a Calvinist) and wouldn't denounce Paul Washer as a false teacher (simply because he is a Calvinist) then he would have to block me. Nothing else occurred.

    Is The Mormon Church Christian?

ROTA I appreciate the video and plan to watch it. Interestingly enough, I was defriended and blocked by someone on facebook by refusing to denounce a Calvinist as a false teacher. I am not sure that I agree with this treatment.

    Talking In Tongues

I love it when I find agreement to what the Lord is teaching me. The problem that I have with the video is Paul addressed speaking in tongues within a church meeting, so it isn't just for witnessing to unbelievers, from 11:50-13:40, and asking someone to speak in a certain language is testing God is it not? but most of this I agree with. There are churches who believe that spiritual gifts have been done away with and I think that they are harming themselves with this belief... they are dampening God's Spirit.

    Historical Reliability Of The Gospels

The Case for Christ is a good documentary to watch/book to read regarding this. It is obvious that the 4 different authors did not collaborate while writing, yet the 4 accounts all do corroborate the others. As for historocity, if the accounts were of someone else's life no one would think to question them. They are very well substantiated, with copies dating back to soon after the events took place, and copies that show no tampering.

    Two Gospels Revisited...

Okay, if we assume that this is correct, then who is the audience for Luke, Acts, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, Hebrews, Romans, Jude, James, 1 Peter and 2 Peter? How do we know who the audience is? And if we recognize the audience, what kind of dispute is put to rest and why?

    Two Gospels Revisited...

“This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life” (1 Tim. 1:15-16) Let's let scripture speak. Scripture and the Holy Spirit is all we need. That is why I quote scripture so often with so little commentary.

I think I could easily say, "However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me FIRST Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, AS A PATTERN." Because of friends and family members who are following my example out of the cult. Oh, and my question as to which parts of the New Testament shouldn't apply to me as a member of the Body of Christ... was never answered.

Issac I have grown in respect for you from this occurrence. I agree with everything that UD had to say to you. I trust that you will continue to work for God and for us, your brothers and sisters. My love goes with you, God bless you.

I am not easily swayed by false teachers. I have a lot of experience with them and intend to use that experience to strengthen my brothers and sisters against them.

That's funny. I thought that you were arguing that things written in the NT did not apply today... like Jame's writings for example. I recall Fred mentioning how James is confusing and Luther wanted it ripped out of the Bible. Or Peter and John's writings since they were forever under the law.

I will get back to you all... I am dealing with my mother trying to shun me yet get visits with my kids. It has been a hard couple of days, but the Lord is taking care of me.

I am sorry that my question was not worded clearly. I did not ask a yes or no question. What I mean is what part of the Bible canon are you saying does not apply to Christians today?

So what is written in the Bible cannon that was written under the "gospel of circumcision" that we need to separate out and realize does not apply to us?

    Two Gospels Revisited...

What you fail to realize is that I have a natural schedule of Bible reading and study. When I rely on God to teach me and show me the answers He is faithful to His promise that the Holy Spirit will teach me. I don't have to busy myself searching for these things.
