    Site migration to new server

BTW, a bit of a mystery this morning is that the forum was offline, so I turned it back online. I'm wondering if after the migration, if I had set it back online on the old server thinking I was on the new server. What is strange is that if it really was offline this whole time (since the migration on April 2nd), regulars were still able to post. Since there has been no mention of it I guess it can remain as an "unsolved mystery". Fred

    Site migration to new server

Sorry I missed this earlier. You can ignore those messages. Invision regularly comes out with updates and unless a major security issue arises it isn't worth upgrading. I also wish I could turn off their license reminder. The license is only needed to do an upgrade or get support from them. Fred

    The server migration has completed.

    Site migration to new server

I plan to do the migration tonight. Again, if you see the maintenance message it means you are on the old server. Nameserver changes can take between 30 minutes to 24 hours to march their way through the internet across the planet. Some say it can take up to 48 hours, but that's probably only for folks in Antarctica.
  5. Hello everyone, I've decided to open up the forum registration to not require an Admin approval. The reason is because 1) the last handful of registrations over the last several months look legit (in the past there would be spurts of obvious bogus spam signups), 2) later versions of this forum software support email validation, which should cut down on bogus registrations, 3) due to the dropping interest in the forum from the outside world, when someone does sign up, oftentimes they don't get seen and approved until days or even weeks later. The Admin that took care of this has been away from the forum for a while now, and too often I don't see the registration email to login and approve them. So this leads to the next question... Is there a Christian on this forum willing to become a moderator or an admin? If so, please send me an email at fredmw7@gmail.com. If you don't hear from me it means that the email for some reason didn't land in my inbox, so you can alternately try my work email which is fmwilliams@micron.com. Thanks, Fred

    Site migration to new server

Hello all, Within the next week, the site needs to be migrated to a new server. I'll place the site in maintenance mode during this time. It will be in maintenance mode for up to 24 hours. If you login and don't see the maintenance mode message, then the nameserver migration has completed. Fred
  7. TeeJay was one of my favs here on this forum. We later met in person through the radio show (rsr.org). He had one colorful life. His real name was Thomas Healey. Obituary On March 6, 2019 Thomas Joseph Healey, husband and father, passed away at the age of 83 from Acute Leukemia. Tom spent 20 years in the Air Force and retired as a Master Sargent. He served in Bengasi, Vietnam and numerous other military stations. Upon retirement, Tom became a Federal Law Enforcement Officer and was part of a special forces team that responded to threats against nuclear weapons. After leaving federal law enforcement he pursued his Christian ministry and was ordained as a Christian Apologetics Minister. He taught Apologetics to seniors at a private Christian school in Athens, Texas. Tom was born and raised in Pittston, Pennsylvania and graduated from Dupont High School. He lived 36 years in East Texas on a 125 acre ranch. Tom was preceded in death by his father William Healey, mother Kathleen Dooner, Sister Rita Healey, Brothers William Healey, Jr. and John Healey. He is survived by his wife Madelyn Wood Healey, 4 children Thomas Healey, Elaine Healey, Bayette Saenz and Gina Coughlin, his brother Eugene Paul Healey and 11 grandchildren , 10 great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held on April 5th at First Baptist Church, 303 Athens Street, Canton, TX 75103 at 10:00 a.m. He will be interred at the DFW National Cemetery with a graveside service to begin at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers a tax-deductible donation can be made to American Right to Life at AmericanRTL.org. Specify credit to the “education fund in memory of Thomas Healey.”

My guess is that non-moderators can't see the 'Source' button because of security reasons. Fred

    Forum Upgrade complete!

Thanks piason. I still have some cleanup work to do, such as fixing the rules and faq links. I also will likely update the skin at some point. So far from what I can tell this upgrade offers quite a few neat features. I should have done this a while ago, sorry again for dragging my feet! Fred

    Forum Upgrade complete!

Sorry everyone for the delay. The forum has so many posts that it took a long to to process all of them after the upgrade. We are now on the latest IPB software. I plan to update the board skin soon, but in the meantime everything should work much better than before. Fred
