    Value Of A Human Being

Don't worry Fjuri, I'm not trying to hijack your and Dave's discussion or say he is wrong per se. These threads can accommodate two separate discussions along side each other as long as we make it clear who and what we are addressing. You said you'd only be responding to the one person and line of discussion, Dave didn't . Plus I'm not saying anyone is wrong, I just want a few things explained to me that I really can't get my head around.

    Value Of A Human Being

Well sure sinless life and glorified body sounds nice but it's the 'entirely new person...and only wanting to worship god' bit in particular that makes it sound like a thought slave. And for the torment with fire that never quenches, well, I'm not too worried about that and I doubt it's an advisable topic of discussion just for the time being. What with what went on in another thread. Edit- just so everyone is aware I didn't mean the tone of that post to sound snarky or disrespectful, but more of light and conversational. It's hard to tell sometimes when it's just text.

    Value Of A Human Being

So, basically, entirely new persons, sinless and wanting only to worship God. As such, there will be no more temptation to return to old, sinful habits. To me this sounds like automatons and thought slaves. Can you explain why they would not be?

    The 2nd Law Of Thermodynamics

I don't think it helps that this is a naturally sensitive field and it can also be difficult to tell if someone was joking or genuinely annoyed by something someone has said. (I know, I know Mike S, you don't believe anyone has the power to offend anyone else). Also that we come from quite a varied mix of culturesand languages. Maybe now that most of us have had the chance to get a bit of it off our chests the air will be cleared a bit and we can get back to the important stuff. Blackjack, bevvy and brothe...ah maybe not here.

    Value Of A Human Being

I will say, however, that the concept of heaven is very much misunderstood even among Bible-believing Christians. It's a very complicated issue, fraught with potholes because you can't discuss God's love and mercy without also discussing his judgement ... and if you think heaven is confusing, just think what the concept of hell must be for people. This. ^^ I've read quite a bit lately about hell and the devil it's amazing the range of different interpretations. Same with the Adam and Eve story. Which is what brought me to this site originally.

    Value Of A Human Being

But the plain truth is that God asks only one thing of us before we die ... do we accept by faith his son's sacrifice on the cross as payment for our sins. If by some miraculous intervention Hitler had professed faith in the bunker even seconds before dying, he would indeed be with the Lord. His rewards, or lack of them, in heaven are a different matter. I eagerly await these points being hotly debated.

    The 2nd Law Of Thermodynamics

I'd really like to know what has happened in Cal's life to make him so angry at anyone who dares to have a different opinion. Do you act this way in real life calypsis? It must be very tiring.

    The 2nd Law Of Thermodynamics

Victimised is a bit strong, or at least the connotations are even if it is semantically true. I j7st like to see everyone treated fairly, if not the same. Old army phrase that. Talk to you when you're back.

    The 2nd Law Of Thermodynamics

Keysi, I'm pretty surprised by your response to what was a rather tongue-in-cheek response to your post, that I gave initially. (with many smilies to indicate I was winding you up a little bit, which I thought was just a bit of fun with friends.) OK...my more...heated reply was more in response to the tone I detected from an early post of yours which definitely seemed hostile towards me, which caused me to overlook your use of smileys to show your kidding in the post I actually quoted. I thought it was a continuation of the same theme. If you were just joking in the following post then I admit I shouldn't have jumped down your throat the way I did, it just SEEMED it was a free pass for creationists to act in a hostile manner and anyone else would be shot down for it. That is where the mention of hypocrisy comes from. It seems to me that certain people here get away with or endorse behaviour to non creationists that is quite rude and intolerant but as soon as they are questioned it's time to jump on the high horse and claim to be the injured party. The way calypsis talks to anyone who disagrees with him for instance is shocking and no creationist here says anything to him about that in particular, but you're all ready in an instant to fall on anyone who questions Mike Summers like a ton of bricks. There's no apparent attempt at a level playing field. Things like that get to me, and one of my many flaws is getting wound up fast. I don't want to fall out with you over it Mike as you are quite sound.

    The 2nd Law Of Thermodynamics

Complete and utter lies. And if you can wait til the weekend or next week when I can use the laptop I'll show you numerous examples. And since you mention it, while atheists do paint creationists as dumb, scientifically illiterate idiots etc. and I was pleasantly surprised to find that for the most part on this website that is completely untrue. However I also expected you to be friendly, approachable and cordial. When in actual fact most of the time you're hypocritical, hostile to anyone who dates to disagree and will bend over backwards to defend the indefensible when it has been said by another creationist. Bit of a disappointment really.

    The 2nd Law Of Thermodynamics

Does this sort of tactic generally have much success in convincing people of your point of view? Insults and bigotry. You're really doing the lord's work there, mate.

    The 2nd Law Of Thermodynamics

I never asked what you care about. I'm simply pointing out that the logic that has been used against me can also be applied to anyone else. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, as has been said here several times. Edit- Also, the sin of pride? C'mon Mike you boy, the sin of pride is ripping out of any post you make about your logic abilities. He who is without since cast the first stone. Or more plainly, don't be a hypocritical ass.

    The 2nd Law Of Thermodynamics

Aaaaand there we have it. Lovely examples of bigotry from Calypsis. The way you treat people who don't agree with you and, according to Mike Summers ignoring people is also bigotry. Let's just see if anyone has the testicular fortitude to tell it to you straight though.

What Would You Say To This?

Yea final fantasy was my childhood and early twenties staple, until I was shown the light that jrpgs are not the only type of rpg. Then I discovered western ones such as dragon age, skyrim and the witcher and those are a whole different kettle of fish . And better.

I grew up playing the original pokemon on the black and white game boys; it was a big deal when I got the special edition game boy color! Me- I still play on a ps3, dragon age inquisition at the minute not as good as origins. Also, funnily enough I played a bit of pokemon gold at the weekend, it's been many many years nd it's still fun. And I'm 28....lol

When Will A Rock Become Concious?

Sigh one last ditch effort at establishing a line of conversation... The hostility you speak of being created was from yourself, Mike. You accused me of being a bigot for no good reason and refused to say you were mistaken. How do you expect to have a meaningful conversation with people if you accuse them of things like that for nothing? And then you attempt to take the moral high ground with the 'welcome back i hope you have got over...' etc. Do you honestly not see how I showed no hostility by making a silly little joke containing the words 'you guys' and that you showed hostility by calling me a bigot? And also just for the sake of clarity, the post I made about wibble only asking and not accusing was in response to Mike the wiz, not you. You replied as if it was to you and this was incorrect. Edit - not that I'm excluding you from replying to it ( I'm not even able, I know) I'm just saying for the sake of clearing up any confusion.
  17. keysi

When Will A Rock Become Concious?

Wibble was only ASKING, no accusing. He didn't say Mike Summers thinks that he only asked if he did. Which is fair enough when you think about it. In order to have meaningful conversations about this stuff we have to try to at least see where out conversation partners are coming from.

When Will A Rock Become Concious?

What part of no god do you thnk I don't understand? Honestly mate I think it goes well beyond that one phrase. I'd be surprised if you know what day of the week it is. I've gave you the benefit of the doubt but you're either not capable of holding an adult conversation or on overdrive with the trolling. And I cannot be bothered with it anymore. And before you do the usual "well I guess he has decided I'm not fit enough " routine I'd j7st like to point out whenever creationists have stated they won't reply to someone I've always noticed a distinct lack of input on that front from you. Anyways, as the great Al Swearengen said ' me and him, we've had our last word.'

When Will A Rock Become Concious?

Ok I quickly scanned the rest of your post Mike S and you're either extremely confused or because of my lack of copy and paste facility you can't tell what are my quotes and what are your own. I acknowledge that this is my fault and ask if we can postpone this discussion until I can get back to posting from my laptop where I'll be able to make my quotes bold or distinguishable in some way. It may be a while though because the keyboard on my laptop is totally fubar.

I only have time for the first part right now but I'll get to the rest of your post later. Keysi said: Quote Posted 02 March 2016 - 09:18 AM I haven't called a person an atheist in a long time. I will generally acknowledge that some people "allege" atheism. The way I view it is they would have to be God to know who can or can't exist in this universe! To claim they know who can or can't exist is nuts! (edit:) and a "god" like decree! If they are going to claim there is no god then don't act like they are one! Just say, "I dont know whethere there is a god or not! Guess what? If you told me you were a tuba and went around all day long saying ompa ompa I would believe you were just a human being telling yourself you were a tuba. LOL See what I mean? Are you aware, Mike, that you quoted and refuted yourself while trying to quote me? Lol you don't have a clue what you're replyingto do you? Also, you said if you go around declaring god discuss not exist etc etc. Umm....what?....when have I done that? Are you confusing me with someone else? Or do you not even know who you're replying to anymore?

When Will A Rock Become Concious?

anti-theists are pretty much bigots by definition I wholeheartedly agree with this and almost said it in a previous post in this thread. However Mike Summers constantly calls atheists and anyone else who doesn't believe in God (agnostics too since we don't hold a positive belief in any god). Has anyone ever pointed out to Mike S that not all atheists are anti thesists? And if we actually read the definition of bigotry I don't really see how not believing someone or something exists can count. To be a bigot you would inherently have to acknowledge the things existence? Therefore you wouldn't be atheist anymore.

When Will A Rock Become Concious?

Yea I meant the old school (from my very first forum days) light hearted messing around type of trolling that I don't mind. Does it still count as "trolling" if you genuinely believe what you're saying? Language evolves pretty quickly...
  23. keysi

When Will A Rock Become Concious?

I don't even mind trolling. Sometimes it lightens up a heated subject. It's hypocrisy and unfairness I can't stand.

When Will A Rock Become Concious?

I am not offended! So, stop lieing to yourself! Then why get on your moral high hire and give me a lecture on being a bigot over an imagined slur? Copy won't work but I'm reply to the very end of Mike Summer's post where he said as Mike the wiz says we are all equala- huh? When did I ever suggest otherwise? Show me a post where I claimed to be better than anyone. I know what you mean Fjuri but I'm hoping against hope that he will either admit that he was wrong and we can all move on.

When Will A Rock Become Concious?

I haven't called a person an atheist in a long time. I will generally acknowledge that some people "allege" atheism. The way I view it they would have to be God to know who can or can't exist in this universe! To claim they know who can or an't exist is nuts! Gibberish and doesn't address my point. It is bigoted of you to say someone who doesn't agree with your world view has a mental illness. If they don't know 1% of the beings that exist on planet earth how can they claim to know who can or can't live in he rest of the uiverse that they have never explored? ( I know there was more to that paragraph but it's difficult to copy and paste, sorry) Again this is gibberish and doesn't address what I said, but I'll bite anyway. Are creationists bigots then because they don't believe in the tens of thousands of other gods that have been claimed to exist by other cultures the world over? More to follow.
