Awesome Worship Music...

Recommended Posts

Deadlock started a thread with a video and song and it made me think that we should have a running thread with awesome worship music. If we already have one of these, please let me know. I'll be glad to merge them together, maybe even pin it if my superiors are okay with it.

We've been singing 'Revelation Song' at our Church and they do a pretty good job but Kari Jobe is specially gifted:

She's pretty good! I wonder if I can get her to do a couple of my worship songs  ...

I wouldn't merge the two threads Adam, but pinning this one would be a good idea :)

My wife sang this at a small Baptist Church last week. I have to brag that God blessed me with a wife who has an angelic voice. By God's grace I believe that little Bible thumping Baptist church was blessed. Posted Image

It's the Pastor's right hand man (my friend) who calls it a Bible thumping church, not just me. Posted Image

Here’s a song I wrote while attending a worship team work shop at my church. We played it the next morning during worship service. I re-recorded a studio version later with more verses, but I like this one as well because it was recorded live and fresh.

Even In My Weakness (Live version)

Sorry, no videos

That's cool. Do you lead worship at your church? Is that your picture in the Raiders shirt? The picture is a little creepy but the song is good.

Thanks for sharing.

What do you mean "a little creepy"?:lol:

I've been everything from the drummer, to guitarist to worship leader. I fill in where I'm needed at the time. I've also been the worship leader in prison ministries.

That's Awesome! I don't have any musical skills. I sing my heart out during worship. I pray for the poor souls around me.

We actually have a 'band' for our home group that consists of a piano, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and my wife sings, all in my little living room. The 'band' is half of the home group usually. Posted Image

The acoustic guitarist put this (I should say mixed it, right? Posted Image ) song together, by himself, in his little cluttered basement office:

Just a little off topic Adam, but, I have a few apologetic tunes at my sight as well. Here's one you may get a kick out of. It's called "Bang Bang" A play on Chucky Darwin and the Big Bang Model (amongst other topics).

Bang Bang (An Apologetic)

This is a re-mix of my original song. Tom of Pogue Project re-mixed it, added some backing vocals, a flute and some backing guitars.

Blessings

Ron

I wanted to add our resident music guy's :) song in his sig on this thread because I just can't stop singing it:

Bang Bang

Bang-Bang

Down slid the monkey from a limbless tree

Altering the truth, Relatively

As a distortion of the Dragon

he let’s the lies fly free (Indeed)

Old Chucky didn’t like the way the Word read

Or the truth in the facts of what the Son said

So as a phrophet of the Dragon

He looked for lies in the ground (all Around)

(Chorus)

Bang - Bang ……… Or so it goes

Bang - Bang ……… The story grows

Bang - Bang ……… If you tell it enough to the weak

(So don’t be weak)

Up slid the Serpent from beneath the tree

He wants to make a monkey

out of you and me

So he’s found enough minions

to present it convincingly

So he tries to infest the minds of the young

Like a parasite he strikes them deaf an dumb

He pulls the strings to make the weak in mind succumb (It’s enough)

(Chorus)

Bang - Bang ……… Did He really say

Bang - Bang ……… With His Word that way

Bang - Bang ……… In six consecutive days (Like it says)

Interlude

(Chorus)

Bang - Bang ……… Or so it goes

Bang - Bang ……… The story grows

Bang - Bang ……… If you tell it enough to the weak

(So don’t be weak)

If you happen to hear a hisssss from a forked tongue

My best advice to you is to stand on the Word

Cause not much has changed sense this old world fell

Up stood the WORD on a rough hewn tree

With arms outstretched...for you and me

To prove the truth written from the very start

(In His Heart)

(Chorus

Bang - Bang ……… The hammer fell

Bang - Bang ……… Reserved the Liar for Hell

Bang - Bang ……… And only the fool can deny (with his life)

Bang - Bang ……… Did He really say

Bang - Bang ……… With His Word that way

Big - Bang ……… In six consecutive days (Like He said)

I like CCC - Youth. There are not too many of their songs on YouTube. But this is a pretty good one.

Edited:

Sorry, video does not work because old youtube code no longer works for the old videos.

If you don’t mind, I’d like to submit this song “Lord, Wash Over Meâ€ÂÂ

This was a song written out of anguish, and lowliness and a rough patch in my life. I’ll never feel like David (or at least I haven’t yet), but I believe I can empathize with him when I read his Psalms.

Ron,

I always find your songs to be well written and inspired. David poured his heart out before God in humility and it was God's grace and mercy that made those cries touch His very heart. Keep 'em coming.

I submit, for your listening, the Classic Maltbie Babcock "Praise" Hymn:

Posted Image<--"My Fathers World"

To Listen, simply click on the picture above

Words: Maltbie D. Babcock, 1901:

While a pastor in Lockport, New York, Babcock liked to hike in an area called “the escarpment,†an ancient upthrust ledge near Lockport. It has a marvelous view of farms, orchards, and Lake Ontario, about 15 miles distant. It is said those walks in the woods inspired these lyrics. The title recalls an expression Babcock used when starting a walk: “I’m going out to see my Father’s world.â€ÂÂ

This is my Father’s world, and to my listening ears

All nature sings, and round me rings the music of the spheres.

This is my Father’s world: I rest me in the thought

Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;

His hand the wonders wrought.

This is my Father’s world, the birds their carols raise,

The morning light, the lily white, declare their Maker’s praise.

This is my Father’s world: He shines in all that’s fair;

In the rustling grass I hear Him pass;

He speaks to me everywhere.

This is my Father’s world. O let me ne’er forget

That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet.

This is my Father’s world: the battle is not done:

Jesus Who died shall be satisfied,

And earth and Heav’n be one.

This is my Father’s world, dreaming, I see His face.

I ope my eyes, and in glad surprise cry, “The Lord is in this place.â€ÂÂ

This is my Father’s world, from the shining courts above,

The Beloved One, His Only Son,

Cameâ€â€Âa pledge of deathless love.

This is probably not quite what you had in mind, but it's a 'God' song nonetheless. A rather beautiful one, too.

Hey Falcone,

I enjoyed that, thanks for sharing. I've never heard of these guys before, but I'm going to look into more of their stuff at You Tube ;)

Here's something you might like: Nothing But The Blood

It's the Classic Robert Lowry Hymn that I re-wrote the music in a more contemporary acoustic format. I recorded it using external mic's on my Ovation guitar, my acoustic bass and drums (I'm your standard three piece band ;) ) . It took some doing, but I greatly reduced the ambient external noise to a tolerable level. I also wrote a new bridge into the chorus.

I'd appreciate you giving it a listen for your honest opinion (I'm not just saying that, I play for a lot of non Christians as well, and an unbiased clinical ear helps me quite a bit).

Thanks

Ron
