Keep Me In Your Prayers Please.

Recommended Posts

I went to the optometrist today to have them look at a brown spot that recently appeared on my right eye. He took a close to it and apparently it is a nevus tumor. Normally the percentage of Nevus Tumors that are actually cancerous are only 2% but because of the symptoms that I am displaying such as eye pain, and the spot growing he views me as a high risk for cancer and is fairly certain that I have melanoma. My appointment in Birmingham is on April 1st. Please keep me in your prayers, it would be kind of lame if it turns out that I have cancer at 24.

Hey Spectre, I am so sorry to hear of this ;) . You can be sure of prayers for you and you can be sure that God is in control, regardless of the outcome. But I know what I'll be praying for!

Keep praying and hold on tight to His hand, He's with you every step of the way in this, that you can be sure of.

Take care and God bless :D

Thanks Bex, first thing I noticed when he told me was a very strange air of peace in my mind.

Thanks everyone. I doubt it will be life threatening, but better safe than sorry.

Please keep us posted. I sure wish you could get in sooner. Maybe this is a sign the doctor doesn't think it is too far along even if it is melanoma. I guess I would want to encourage you to do whatever you can to try to get the specialist to fit you in sooner.

If it is melanoma, it is at least in my eye. From what I read it does not spread fast at all and is relatively easy to get rid of. So I'm not too worried. And if it turns out it is terminal then that means I get the awesome opportunity to witness to people. People are always interested in what a dying man has to say.(Not to say I'm dying. lol)

Just wanted to give everyone an update. The center in Birmingham changed doctors because it turns out that the doctor I was assigned too wasn't going to be the one doing the operation. I am now going on April 11th instead of April 1st.

I had surgery and they had to cut out a part of my iris to remove the cancer. I went almost blind in my right eye yesterday though. i called my surgeon and he summarized that it is the eye drops, so he is going to give me new eyedrops. I may be going back to Birmingham next week to get my eye double checked.
