In January 2009, Nature Magazine produced an evolutionist evangelism tract called "15 Evolutionary Gems" to help their faithful "spread the word" of evolution as an "established fact"¹. Since this was compiled by their own papers published over 10 years, it no doubt should serve as their best evidence for the theory. Hence it warrants a closer look from those of us who believe evolution does not qualify as a theory and is at best a low-grade hypothesis.

One must wonder what causes so many brilliant minds to go to the incredible lengths they do to deny a Supreme Creator. It takes a far greater faith to believe that we evolved from a piece of slime billions of years ago than to believe in a Creator. The mathematical odds that through some unknown process the earth came to be at a conveniently precise distance from the sun, at a precise angle, at a precise speed of rotation, with the precise mixture of elements in the atmosphere, and allow conditions such that amino acids beget proteins beget DNA/RNA beget billions of cells beget living organisms, is ABSOLUTELY ZERO! Highly regarded astronomer Sir Fred Hoyle and world-famous mathematician Chandra Wickramasinghe calculated the probability of a SINGLE CELL coming into existence to be 10 to the 40,000 power!² (the number of electrons in the entire universe is estimated to be 10 to the 52nd power!).  Now consider that the the genetic information in a SINGLE CELL contains the equivalent of a library of about 4000 volumes³, and the human body has 30 TRILLION CELLS! Evidence for God is all around us, evidence for evolution is about as tenable as proof of the existence of Alice In Wonderland. Evolution simply remains "A Fairy Tale for Grownups".

Postscript: God has not left us in the dark, and does not expect us to have a "blind" faith.  Not only is his creation a testimony to his existence, but his Word through the Bible also provides overwhelming evidence that He is the one True God. Despite no real biological or fossil evidence² of whales evolving from a land mammal, evolutionists still cling to imaginative fairy tales. The evolutionist Ernst Mayr once candidly wrote that "it is a considerable strain on one's credulity to assume that finely balanced systems such as certain sense organs (the eye of vertebrates, or the bird's feather) could be improved by random mutations³." Given the numerous finley balanced systems such as sonar, we agree that the evolutionist's credulity is quite strained!

2. Evolutionists often cite the long-tailed Ambulocetus as a transition between wolf and whale, hence a walking whale! This was based on the find being near a seashore, closer to sea than its assumed predecessor the Mesonyx (wolf)! The closer to sea, the more whale-like our wolf gets, until finally, POOF, he's a whale! What imagination! "If one practices hard enough you can believe six impossible things before breakfast" - Red Queen, Alice in Wonderland.

Hans Thewissen, a foremost "expert" on whale "evolution", later discovered fossils that in his words "weaken the link between whales and the mesonychians, which was primarily based on similarities in the teeth". (New Views of the Origins of Mammals, Science, Aug 7, '98, p775). Maybe next they'll tell us it was a moose that ventured into the water and eventually became a whale! Update: Turns out the hippo is the preferred actor in this fairytale.
